SWIFT is built for them: a soft cushion slung deep between two open birch frames, falling into a low curve that gathers around their shape the moment they settle in. It sits lifted clear of the floor, the air moving freely beneath, so they lie wrapped and carried through the whole of their rest. A deep cradle, slung low.

The thinking inside.

Two open birch frames stand at either end, each angling outward as it rises so the cushion is carried wide and open at the top, with the lower rails bracing them steady at the base.

Four rails lock the piece together with no tools. The two upper rails thread through the cushion's side sleeves to carry it, and the two lower rails brace the frames apart, every rail clicking down into its slot so the whole piece stands solid.

The cushion hangs from its own sleeves, a rail run through each side that locks down into the slots at the top of the frames, the cushion falling into a deep curve that takes a Companion's shape and keeps it.

Shipping & assembly

SWIFT arrives flat, with everything it needs to come to shape and no tools at all. Stand the two frames, click the two lower rails into their slots to brace the base, then slide the two upper rails through the cushion's side sleeves and press them down into the open slots at the top of the frames, the cushion settling into its cradle between them. A few quiet minutes, nothing to tighten, and SWIFT is standing. Ships across Egypt in 7 to 10 business days. Materials & care

Baltic birch plywood with its laminations left visible, the rails cut and finished to match, built by hand in our Cairo workshop. The cushion is a 3 cm microfiber core in a washable cover: lift the cover off, machine-wash cold, air-dry and reinsert. Wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth and keep it from sitting in water.

The piece

The deep cradle.

A Companion steps up, turns once, and the cradle takes them in. The cushion gives and gathers around their whole shape, drawing close as they settle into a rest that carries them deep and easy. SWIFT slings that cushion deep between two open frames, lifted clear of the floor with the air moving freely below, so the warmest day stays light beneath them. It is the kind of rest a Companion sinks into and is slow to leave.
