Materials & care

Hand-finished curved Baltic birch plywood with laser-cut louvres, built by hand in our Cairo workshop. The cushion is a 3 cm microfiber core in a washable cover: lift the cover off, machine-wash cold, air-dry and reinsert. Wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth and keep it from sitting in water.

Custom orders

GIGI also takes custom orders. If you have a particular size, finish or proportion in mind, write to us before ordering and we will shape a piece around your home and your Companion. Custom pieces are made to order, with timeline and shipping confirmed with you before work begins.

The piece

The one that turns a room into a story.

GIGI is a drum: an open slatted Baltic birch plywood cylinder that stands on a low wood base, its curved body louvred so light and air move through it the way they move through good architecture. The front opens in a clean circle; the back is a solid disc; the cushion nests into the curved base, so a Companion steps up, circles once, and folds into a form that was clearly made on purpose. It is the piece people stop in front of.

There is no cover to drape, no roof to soften, nothing to hide the structure. The slats are the design and the ventilation at once, curved and laser-cut, finished by hand. GIGI sits at the top of the line because it asks the most of the workshop and gives the most back to the room: a sculptural sanctuary that happens to be a place a Companion loves.
