The thinking inside.

Two black birch frames, each an open bracket rising to carry the rails, standing the cushion high and clean off the floor, open on every side.

The two upper rails carry the cushion through its side sleeves and two lower rails brace the frames, all four rails bolted square with eight screws, so the whole piece stands solid.

The cushion hangs by its own sleeves, a rail through each side, free to take a Companion's shape and hold it.

Shipping & assembly

ONYX arrives flat, with everything needed to bring it to shape, allen key included. You build the frame first: the two black frames joined by the lower rails, bolted square with the eight screws. Then the upper rails feed through the cushion's side sleeves and bolt square into the frames, the cushion settling between them. A few quiet minutes, and ONYX is standing. Materials & care

Baltic birch plywood blackened and sealed under multiple clear laminate coats so the colour stays deep, the rails cut and finished to match, built by hand in our Cairo workshop. The cushion is a 3 cm microfiber core in a removable charcoal cover that slides off to wash: machine-wash cold, air-dry and reinsert. Wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth and keep it from sitting in water.

ONYX also takes custom orders. If you have a particular size, finish or proportion in mind, write to us before ordering and we will shape a piece around your home and your Companion. Custom pieces are made to order, with timeline and shipping confirmed with you before work begins.
