How do I encourage my Companion to use LYRA?
A few things can help:
- Put LYRA where they already scratch, not where you would rather they scratched.
- Rub a little catnip into the sisal rope to draw them over.
- Play with them around the post so they touch it while they are distracted.
- Reward them the moment they scratch it themselves.
- Never take their paws and put them on it.
- Give it time. A Companion can take weeks to claim something new.
Where should I place LYRA?
Start at the spot your Companion already scratches. If they work the sofa, stand LYRA right beside it.
Somewhere they pass often works better than somewhere tidy.
Will LYRA stay steady while my Companion scratches?
Yes. The post screws into a weighted square birch base that holds it steady however hard your Companion works it. They can throw their whole weight against the post and it stays where you put it.
Stand it on a flat surface and it is ready.
What happens when LYRA arrives?
LYRA arrives ready to put together by hand, no tools needed.
Inspect it before you accept it. If anything isn’t right, send it straight back with the courier. You don’t pay, or if you already have, we’ll refund you in full.
You can also return it within 14 days if it’s in brand-new condition, unused and in its original packaging.
