Baltic birch plywood with its laminations left visible, two posts wound in natural sisal rope, and a small wooden arm over each, all built in our Cairo workshop. Wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth and don’t leave it sitting in water.

The piece
Work one, then the other.
A Companion does not scratch one way. They work high on one post, then drop low to dig and rake at the other. DUAL gives them both on one base: a taller post and a lower one, each wound base to top in sisal rope coarse enough to take the deepest pull without ever wearing smooth. A toy swings from the top of each, within a paw’s reach, so the reach becomes a bat and the rake becomes a chase. They move between the two, high then low, and come back for more. Under all of it the weighted base stays put through every pull, the steadiness that keeps a Companion coming back. A high post and a low rake on one base, made to be worked hard and to stand in full view.

How do I encourage my Companion to use DUAL?
A few things can help:
- Put DUAL where they already scratch, not where you would rather they scratched.
- Rub a little catnip into the sisal rope, or set the toys swinging to pull them over.
- Play with them around the posts so they touch them while they are distracted.
- Reward them the moment they scratch it themselves.
- Never take their paws and put them on it.
- Give it time. A Companion can take weeks to claim something new.
Where should I place DUAL?
Start at the spot your Companion already scratches. If they work the sofa, stand DUAL right beside it.
Somewhere they pass often works better than somewhere tidy.
Will DUAL stay steady while my Companion scratches?
Yes. Both posts seat into one weighted plywood base that holds them steady however hard your Companion works them. They can throw their whole weight against either post and it stays where you put it.

What happens when DUAL arrives?
DUAL arrives ready to put together by hand, no tools needed.
Inspect it before you accept it. If anything isn’t right, send it straight back with the courier. You don’t pay, or if you already have, we’ll refund you in full.
You can also return it within 14 days if it’s in brand-new condition, unused and in its original packaging.

How do I put DUAL together?
DUAL goes together by hand, with no tools:
- Screw the shorter and taller post into the base until each one seats firm.
- Fit the arm onto the top of each post.
- Screw each toy into the holder under the arm. It hangs from its cord once it is in.
- Check both posts are firm before your Companion uses it.
How do I clean DUAL?
Wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth and don’t leave it sitting in water.
Are the materials safe for my Companion?
Yes. DUAL is made from Baltic birch plywood, natural sisal rope and wooden arms, with no harmful finishes or adhesives.
